Characteristics

Stems c. 300-650 mm long, erect or decumbent, simple to branched particularly above, minutely glandular-puberulous, coarse hairs up to 0.4-1 mm long as well, often over whole length of stem. Primary leaves up to 11-21 x 3-5.5 mm, ratio of length to breadth roughly 3-6:1 [9-30 x 1.1-5 mm, ratio roughly 4-10:1] (8-25 x 1-2.5 mm, ratio roughly 4.5-25:1), elliptic to narrowly obovate [narrowly obovate to linear-lanceolate] (narrowly obovate to linear-lanceolate), acute, gradually narrowed to a petiolar part, margins entire to c. 10-toothed, glandular-punctate otherwise glabrous except sometimes a few very minute hairs on back of midrib near base of leaf. Flowers up to 8-25 in each partial inflorescence [15-28] (20-45), loosely arranged. Pedicels up to 0.5-1.5 mm long [1-1.8 mm] (0.8-1.5 mm). Calyx tube 1.7-2.3 mm long [1.4-2 mm] (1-1.7 mm), posticous lobes 0.5-1 x 0.4-0.7 mm [0.4-0.8 x 0.4-0.6 mm] (0.3-0.8 x 0.3-0.4 mm), nearly glabrous or hairs up to 0.2-0.4 mm long on margins. Corolla tube 4.2-6.5 x 1.2-1.8 mm in throat [2.5-5 x 1.2-1.6 mm] (2-4 x 1-1.3 mm), limb 3.6-5.5 mm across lateral lobes [3-4.1 mm] (2.5-4.3 mm), posticous lobes 1.2-2 x 0.8-1.1 mm [1-1.8 x 0.8-1 mm] (0.7-1.5 x 0.5-1 mm), anticous lobe 1.4-2.5 x 0.8-1.2 mm [1.2-2.2 x 0.8-1.1 mm] (1-2 x 0.5-1 mm), shades of blue and mauve, rarely a white sport, clavate hairs around mouth, sometimes confined to posticous lip. Stamens: posticous filaments 1.5-2.2 mm [1.1-2.2 mm] (1.2-1.8 mm), anthers 0.4-0.7 mm [0.4-0.6 mm] (0.3-0.4 mm), anticous filaments 1.3-2.3 mm [1.2-2.3 mm] (1.4-2.2 mm), anthers 0.4-0.8 mm [0.4-0.6 mm] (0.3-0.4 mm). Stigma 1.5-5 mm [1.5-3 mm] (1.44 mm). Style 2-3 mm [0.8-2.2 mm] (0.7-1.7 mm). Ovary 0.7-1 x 0.3-0.4 mm. Capsules c. 1.7-2 x 1-1.5 mm Seeds c. 0.6-1 x 0.4 mm.
