Perennial herb with erect stems 1.25–1.5 m. tall, glabrous, somewhat branched.. Leaves moderately large, middle ones about 2 dm. long, bipinnate to quadripinnate; leaflets broadly ovate to oblate in general outline sometimes trilobed or with few coarse teeth, rounded to subacute and shortly apiculate, base rounded or cordate.. Inflorescences rather small, compact, and apparently few flowered; pedicels 2 to 5 mm. long.. Sepals 4 mm. long.. Stamens 5–10; anther thecae 1.2 mm. long, prolongation of connective 0.1 mm. long.. Carpels 1–2; stigma 3–4 mm. long at anthesis.. Fruit unknown.
