Plants 10--70 cm tall, glabrous. Stems 2 or 3, simple or distally few branched, smooth. Basal leaves many; leaf blade 2-ternate; leaflet blade rhombic-orbicular, 0.4--1 × 0.4--1 cm, leathery, base cuneate or rounded, apex rounded, 3-lobed; lobes entire or 1-or 2-crenate; veins inconspicuously raised abaxially. Cauline leaves 1 or 2, small. Inflorescence monochasial, few flowered. Flowers 1--3 cm in diam.; pedicel 1--1.6 mm. Sepals 4--6, early deciduous, narrowly elliptic to obovate, 3--15 × 1.5--8 mm. Stamens ca. 4.3 mm; filament base filiform, ca. 4 mm, apex oblanceolate, ca. 3.5 × as broad as than anther; anther elliptic, apex obtuse. Carpels 11--17; style short. Achene stipe ca. 1.8 mm; body fusiform, compressed, 4--6 mm; veins ca. 6, weak. Fl. May.
