Sprawling, glaucous, hemiparasitic shrublet, up to 0.3 m high; stems many, with flexuose, often grey-glaucous branches. Leaves linear, up to 15 mm long, mucronate. Inflorescences 1-3-flowered. Bracts shortly adnate to peduncle. Flowers minute, white. Perianth with cylindric tube; segments triangular, ± 1 mm long, hooded. Disc conspicuous. Flowering time Sept.-Jan. Fruit ellipsoid, ± 3 mm long, including persistent perianth; ribbed, reticulate between ribs.
Herb, 0.3-0.5 m high; glaucous, without spines. Stems subprocumbent, slender, many, sprawling. Leaves ascending; blade narrowly linear, up to 15 mm long, apex acuminate, mucronate. Flowers: inflorescence 1-3-flowered; bracts adnate to peduncle; disc prominent; perianth with apical beard absent, without a prominent tube, segments triangular, ± 1 mm long, hooded, white; Sep.-Dec. Fruit ellipsoid, ± 3 mm long, ribbed, reticulate between ribs.
Slender herb, up to 200 mm tall. Leaves narrowly linear, acuminate, ascending. Flowers single, on terminal part of branches. Perianth segments glabrous. Flowers white.
