Characteristics

Frutex rigidus alt. 1-2 ped., caulibus glabris, pallide glauco-virentibus, foliis destitutis. Rami alterni, late divaricati, basi leviter constricti, in spinas excurrentes. Cortex in siccitate irregulariter rugosus. Inflorescentia lateralia, breviter spicata. Bractea lanceolata acuta, long. 2 lin. utrinque convexa, margine integra. Bracteolae similes sed long. 1 lin., floribus rudimentariis in axillas. Receptaculum cylindricum, long. 1 lin.; perianthii tubus long, 1/2 lin., segmenta long. 1/2 lin. ovata obtusa cucullata, in marginibus paucis papillis longis instructis. Antherae long. 1/4 lin., exsertae, capillis ad perianthium adhaerentes. Stylus long. 1/4 lin.
