Characteristics

Stems branched, slender, up to about 8 in. high, angular; finely scabrous; branches ascending, slender, leafy, scabrous; leaves linear or linear-lanceolate, subacute, up to 3/4 in. long, with a distinct keeled midrib on the lower surface, minutely scabrous; flowers in lax cymes; bracts more or less lanceolate, flat, acute, as long as or longer than the flowers, finely scabrous on the back and margins; bracteoles shorter than the flowers, very similar to the bracts; perianth 3/4-4/5 lin. long; segments ovate, subacute, 3/8 lin. long, slightly hooded; disc prominent, lobed; anthers exserted, 1/8 lin. long; style stout, 1/6 lin. long; fruits globose, 2 lin, long, prominently ribbed, very sparingly and inconspicuously reticulate between the ribs.

Sprawling, scabrid, hemiparasitic shrublet, up to 0.25 m high. Leaves linear to lanceolate, up to 18 mm long, subacute, keeled beneath. Inflorescences of axillary cymules arranged in loose panicles. Bracts ± lanceolate. Flowers whitish. Perianth 1.5 mm long; segments ovate, 0.75 mm long, slightly hooded. Disc prominent, lobed. Fruit globose, ± 4 mm long; prominently ribbed, inconspicuously reticulate between ribs.
