Characteristics

Hemiparasitic shrub, 1.0-1.2 m high; rootstock woody, branches, whip-like, grey. Leaves scale-like, appressed, subulate-lanceolate, up to 5 mm long. Inflorescences of few-flowered, short spikes. Bracts lanceolate, ± 2 mm long, acutely acuminate, margins membranous, jagged. Perianth 2.5 mm long; segments lanceolate, 1.5 mm long, acute. Flowering time Dec.? Fruit ellipsoid, ± 4 mm long; 10-ribbed, faintly reticulate between ribs, ± glaucous-green.
