Characteristics

Herba perennis, copiose ramosa, usque c. 40 cm alta, glaucescens, ramulis glabris rigidulis primo anguloso-sulcatis demum subteretibus 3-5 mm diametro. Folia numerosa, linearia, 5-25 mm longa, circa medium 1-1.3 mm lata, basim versus leviter angustata, apicem versus angustato-subacuminata, apice ipso acutissimo pallido vel brunnescente, supra anguste canaliculata subtus costa satis prominente, marginibus minute papilloso-scabridulis. Inflorescentiae numerosae, foliosae, ramulos terminantes, pauciflorae (2-5-florae), c. 3-6 mm longae, apicem versus ramorum numerosorum irregulariter aggregatae. Flores subsessiles, pedicellis brevissimis usque c. 0.5 mm longis; bracteae bracteolaeque lineares, hae circiter 5 mm longae, illae 6 mm longae, apice acute subacuminatae, omnes quam flores multo longiores. Perianthium subcylindricum, extra glabrum; lobi 5, breviter oblongo-obtusi, minimi, c. 0.5 x 0.25 mm, apice cucullati, intus rostro (vel apice vero) brevissimo subdeflexo, intus marginibus minute papillosis sed non barbatis nec fimbriatis; tubus c. 1 mm longus. Antherae c. 0.5 x 0.3 mm, dorso perianthio pilis afflxae. Stigma minimum, apice styli tenuis 1 mm longi positum. Fructus ovoideo-subglobosus, c. 3 x 2.5-3 mm, longitudinaliter costatus necnon inter costas reticulatus.
