Straggling, hemiparasitic shrublet, 0.2-0.3 m high; branches whip-like, grooved. Leaves sparse, acicular, ± 10 mm long, subterete, acute. Inflorescences of densely flowered, stout spikes. Bracts ovate-lanceolate, acutely acuminate, ± 2 mm long, margins broadly hyaline, indurated. Flowers whitish. Perianth ± 2 mm long; segments lanceolate, ± 1.3 mm long, acute with a long hood. Flowering time Sept.-Apr. Fruit ellipsoid-globose, ± 5 mm long, beaked by long, cone-like, persistent perianth.
