Perianth “white”, tube 1.7–2 mm long, external glands conspicuous, ellipsoid, about half as long as tube, lobes 2–2.4 × 0.5–0.8 mm, oblong, obtuse, hood c. 0.25 mm long, margins inflexed, erose-fimbriate.
Flowers few to many in long lax spikes sometimes terminating in a very slender bracteate (but sterile?) apex, rarely a filiform scaly shoot developing immediately below a flower and much overtopping it.
Bracts 1.5–2 × 0.8–1.3 mm; bracteoles 2, often larger, 1.8–3.2 × 1.2–1.8 mm, ovate-cuspidate, thick-textured, margins membranous, erose-ciliolate.
Stamens inserted near base of perianth lobes; filaments 1–1.3 mm long, conspicuous; anthers 0.5–0.7 mm long.
Leaves all reduced to scales c. 1–2 × 0.4–0.8 mm, lanceolate, acuminate, thick-textured, closely appressed.
Fruit c. 2.5 × 1.8 mm, light reddish-brown, strongly ribbed and reticulate.
Style 3.2–3.6 mm long.
