Characteristics

Twiggy shrublet, hemiparasite, up to 0.4 m high. Leaves of two kinds: basal leaves acicular up to 4 mm long; upper leaves scale-like, ovate-lanceolate ± 2 mm long, apex acute, dark. Inflorescences small, cymose clusters. Bracts ovate with membranous, serrulate margins. Flowers greenish yellow. Perianth with tube absent; segments 0.9 mm long, outer surface humped. Disc prominent. Flowering time July-Mar. Fruit ovoid, ± 3 mm long including persistent perianth, greyish brown; 10-ribbed with reticulation between ribs.
