Characteristics

A sparingly branched shrub, about 30 cm high. Leaves about 1 cm long, scarcely spreading, flat above, rounded below, the margins cartilaginous. Flowers in small terminal clusters. Bracts somewhat keeled, about half as long as the flower, the margins slightly uneven, membranous. Perianth tube short, with spreading triangular lobes: lobes slightly thickened at the apex, the margins minutely hairy. Anthers with attaching hairs: filaments a little longer than the anthers. Style well developed. Fruit ovoid.
