Much-branched, prostrate, hemiparasitic, dwarf shrub, 0.3-0.5 m high; stem stout, knotty. Leaves linear, up to 10 mm long, strongly keeled below, margins papillate and scabrous. Inflorescences terminal. Flowers solitary or 2-5 in lax cymes. Bracts linear, shorter than flowers. Flowers white. Perianth up to 4.5 mm long; segments subacute ± 3 mm long. Flowering time Oct.? Fruit oblong, ± 6 mm long, including beaklike persistent perianth; prominently 10-ribbed, reticulate between ribs.
