Characteristics

Rhizome small; roots tuberous; tubers ellipsoidal, 2.5-7.5 cm long, 5-10 mm wide, c. 7.5-10 cm from rootstock. Leaves 3-5, linear, ±terete, 6-13 cm long, usually withering early. Inflorescence racemose, rarely paniculate, 8-24 cm long; umbels 1-4-flowered, terminal and 2-4 sessile below; pedicels 6-10 mm long, articulated at about level of bract apices. Perianth segments 7.5-12 mm long. Sepals elliptic, c. 2.5 mm wide. Petals oblong-elliptic, c. 4 mm wide; fimbriae 2-2.5 mm long. Stamens 6; anthers curved, twisted, 3 outer 3.5 mm long, 3 inner 6.5 mm long. Style straight except apex, 7 mm long. Seeds not seen.
