Characteristics

Rhizome ±spherical and c. 0.7-1 cm diam., to cylindrical, c. 3-4 cm long; roots fibrous. Leaves absent. Stems annual, possibly persisting for a further year, 19-25 cm long, divaricately branched, ridged, densely tuberculate to retrorsely hirsute in lower parts, ±glabrous above, with 2-4 membranous, narrowly lanceolate bracts 1.5-2.5 cm long, 2 mm wide. Umbels to 8-flowered; pedicels c. 4 mm long, articulated c. 1 mm from base. Perianth segments 7-8 mm long. Sepals very narrowly lanceolate, 1.5 mm wide, mucronate. Petals elliptic, 3-4 mm wide; fimbriae c. 3 mm long. Stamens 6; 3 outer anthers 3 mm long, slightly twisted; 3 inner anthers c. 5 mm long, curved, twisted. Style curved, c. 4 mm long. Seeds not seen.
