Tubers ellipsoidal, 3-4 cm long, sessile. Leaves absent. Annual stems scandent, to 1 m long, with few to many branches. Flowers in twos or solitary, subtended by 2 linear-lanceolate bracts 2 mm long; peduncles 3-5 cm long; pedicels 3-4 mm long, articulation absent. Perianth segments 2-3.5 mm long. Sepals broadly lanceolate, c. 1-1.3 mm wide, with recurved mucro. Petals ovate, c. l.5 mm wide, not fringed, margins incurved near apex. Anthers c. 1 mm long; filaments l.5 mm long. Ovary spherical to cylindrical, l.3 mm long; style c. 1 mm long. Capsule ±spherical, c. 3 mm diam. Seeds shining, shaped like a ribbed shallow bowl, c. 1-1.5 mm diam.
