Leaves: petiole 1.5–2 cm. long, filiform, smaller in adult leaves; blade ovate-oblong, slightly cuneate at base, longly acuminate-apiculate at summit (apiculus up to 2 cm. long), slightly undulate on margins, 7.5–13 cm. long, 3–4 cm. wide, membranous, glabrous on both sides; nerves 5–7 pairs.. Male inflorescences and flowers unknown.. Female inflorescences springing from the old stems, of spikes up to 15 cm. long of solitary flowers.. Female flowers with 12 sepals, the 9 outer ± broadly triangular, 1.2–3 mm. long, 1–2.5 mm. wide, sparsely ciliolate, the 3 inner suborbicular, 2.5–3 mm. long and wide; petals 6, ± oblong, ± acute to subapiculate at apex, about 1 mm. long, thickened on margins, glabrous; carpels 10–15, 1–1.5 mm. long..
