Tipa (en), Tipa de Bolivie (fr)

Species

Angiosperms > Fabales > Fabaceae > Tipuana

Characteristics

Is most easily recognized by the samaroid fruits closely resembling those of Acer, Securidaca or Pterolobium; the yellow flowers resemble those of Pterocarpus. The seed-bearing part of the fruit is ovoid, not flattened, the veins less conspicuous and the stipe longer than in Pterogyne.
