More
Leaves many, up to 30 cm long, 3 mm wide, widening to c. 8 mm at the base, linear, ± triangular in section when fresh (flattened when dry) with a pronounced midrib on the abaxial surface, usually with ± scattered bristle-like hairs; glandular with minute papilliform to setiform tubercular glands densely and evenly arranged in 2–4 rows on the margins and abaxial midrib, the glandular-hair bases persisting as a dense fringe of uniform patent minute bristles much shorter than the larger scattered non-glandular hairs; leaf base with broad membranous wings, ± clasping, outer leaf bases persisting as long coarse fibres.
Tufted perennial grass-like herb, up to 45 cm tall from a short erect woody rhizome, often with fibrous leaf remains at the base, acaulescent; roots numerous, fibrous, (possibly with fusiform swellings at the tips, but not seen).
Perianth segments 6–8 mm long, spreading, white or cream-coloured, with a reddish-brown keel; filaments fusiform swollen above the middle, upper half covered with retrorse obtuse papillae.
Capsules small, 2.5–4 mm in diameter, subglobose, 3-lobed, shortly stipitate above the cup formed by the persistent perianth base, glandular tuberculate, maculate.
