Characteristics

Very similar to T. kirkiana, differing chiefly in the leaf-blades being triangular-ovate to triangular-lanceolate, the ♂ bracts being ovate and more evenly glandular, the filaments short, erect, and not incurved, with the connective apically produced, the ♀ bracts and bracteoles often crenate-dentate, and the ♀ calyx-lobes with the lobules longer than or equalling the width of the rhachis.. The flowers are often variously pink, reddish, brownish, or purplish tinged, and the fruit orange or brick red.
