Characteristics

Capitula homogamous, subcorymbosely arranged, 10-12-fld, pedicels slender, bracteolate, often paired. Involucre of 6-8 rigid and coriac. phyll. Receptacle alveolate. Anthers obtuse at base, cells not tailed. Style-arms truncate, papillose. Pappus irregularly 2-seried, of rigid unequal barbellate hairs, < corolla-tube. Shrub with stout main branches and alt. serrate lvs. Type and only known sp.: T. baccharoides.
