Perennial herb with a taproot and close-pressed prostrate branches, rooting at the nodes.. Leaves glabrous, or almost so; stipules pale, few-nerved, up to 8 mm. long, the free tips about as long as the base; petiole up to 12 mm. long; leaflets cuneate-obovate, rounded or emarginate at the tip, ± 4 mm. long by 2·5 mm. wide, crenate or very slightly toothed; main lateral nerves 4 or 5 on each side at 15°–20° to the midrib.. Inflorescences 1–5-flowered; peduncle up to 1 cm. long; bracts scarious, 0·5–1 mm. long; pedicels 2–3 mm. long, erect.. Calyx green; tube ± 2 mm. long, 11-nerved; teeth narrowly triangular, 1–2 mm. long.. Corolla mauve; standard ± 8 mm. long.. Stamens ± 5 mm. long.. Ovary glabrous; ovules 2–4.
