Leaves long-petioled; leaflets orbicular-obovate, rounded, truncate or emarginate at the tip, glabrous above but silky pilose at the margins, on the midrib beneath and also (except in var. glabrescens) on the underside of the lower half of the 2 lateral leaflets, faintly toothed, strongly veined; petiole glabrous or silky pilose; stipules whitish, with falcate-triangular tips usually rather longer than the base.
