Characteristics

Annual herb, 0.08-0.15 m high; stems simple or branching from base, villous. Leaves long-and short-petioled. Leaflets 12 x 4-8 mm, obovate-oblong, striate, apex denticulate, retuse or emarginate. Stipules subulate-acuminate, 8-15 mm long, membranous. Inflorescences: heads oblong, subsessile or shortly pedunculate. Flowers white or red. Calyx ± 6-8 mm long, densely villous, campanulate, 10-nerved; teeth ± equal, subulate, setaceous; throat open, hairy inside. Pod membranous. Seed reddish brown.
