Much like no. 11 [Trillium cuneatum Raf.], but with lemon-scented, bright yellow (or initially greenish-yellow) fls; 2n=10. Rich woods; s. Ky. and e. Tenn. to w. N.C., n. Ga., and n. Ala. Apr., May. Note that occasional yellow-fld forms occur in other spp.
