Large, glabrous plants parasitic on branches and roots of numerous trees, with epicortical roots produced from the base and from some older stems. Leaves decussate, petiolate. Inflorescences axillary and/or terminal racemes of triads. All flowers pedicellate, perfect, 6-merous, stamens dimorphic, epipetalous, with versatile, dorsifixed anthers. Fruit an endospermous berry.
