Soft woody shrub forming a dense mass of prostrate stems, rooting at the nodes, with vertical shoots up to 1.5 m. high; stem 4-angled, lightly strigose.. Leaf-lamina ovate-elliptic, up to 10.5 cm. long and 5.5 cm. wide, shortly acuminate, base shortly attenuate to subtruncate, shortly strigose on both surfaces; nerves 5, subprominent on both surfaces; petiole up to 3 cm. long.. Inflorescence terminal or axillary; flowers 1–3, subsessile; bracts broadly ovate, acute, 2–4 mm. long, membranaceous, strigose.. Calyx-tube tubular-campanulate, 6–7 mm. long, 3–3.5 mm. in diameter, glabrous; lobes narrowly triangular, 2–3 mm. long, margins shortly ciliate.. Petals obovate, 6–8 mm. long, 5–6 mm. wide, white or pink..
