Characteristics

Shrub 0.2–3 m high, sometimes intricately-branched, with stellate and simple greyish or rusty hairs on young stems, inflorescences and flowers. Leaves: stipules triangular, 1.2–1.5 mm long, persistent; petiole 0.5–0.8 mm long; lamina linear to narrowly obovate, (4–) 6–10 (–15) mm long, (0.7–) 1–1.5 (–2.5) mm wide, base cuneate, entire, revolute, apex obtuse to acute, apiculate, ± straight, densely appressed-pubescent below, glabrous or sparsely hairy above. Inflorescences few-flowered; bracts persistent. Pedicels 0.8–3 mm long. Flowers cream, yellow or greenish. Hypanthium 0.9–1.2 mm diam. Sepals 0.8–1.2 mm long, persistent on fruits. Petals 0.4–0.6 mm long. Stamens 0.4–0.5 mm long. Ovary summit stellate-hairy; carpels 3; style 0.4–0.5 mm long. Fruit black, 1.8–2.2 mm long; torus in the middle third. Seed 0.7–0.9 mm long.
