Characteristics

Perennials with much branched, erect, rarely decumbent stems up to 0.2 m long and densely covered with long phyllopodia which are rarely replaced by a peeling bark. Leaves oblanceolate to obovate, 40-60(-90) x 15-35(-60) mm, cuneate, usually obtuse but minutely cuspidate, dorsiventrally compressed and slightly grooved above, more or less densely covered with glandular hairs, green or yellowish green. Inflorescence a thyrse with 2 or 3 long, straight, monochasial branches, each with (4-)5-10 flowers, glandular-tomentose; peduncle 0.3-0.65 m long; pedicels 4-8(-10) mm long. Calyx 4-8 mm long, glandular-tomentose, yellowish green; lobes triangular-lanceolate, acute. Corolla glandular-pubescent; tube funnel-shaped, 14-16 mm long, slightly bulging at base, yellowish green; lobes 7-8 mm long, spreading to somewhat recurved, white to pale yellow. Anthers 1.2-1.5 mm long. Squamae square, 0.9-1 x 0.8-1 mm, slightly emarginate, fleshy, pale yellowish green.
