Tylecodon kritzingeri Van Jaarsv.

Perennials with branched tubers producing a single or rarely branched stem up to 1 m long, scrambling or scandent, grey with dark striations. Leaves linear to linear-elliptic, acute, terete but grooved above, glabrous, recoiled and sometimes functioning as tendrils. Inflorescence a thyrse with 1-3 monochasia, each with 1-3 flowers, glabrous. Calyx 5-6 mm long, glabrous; lobes triangular-lanceolate, acute. Corolla glabrous outside; tube cylindrico-infundibuliform, with fine hairs mainly on filaments, pale green outside, maroon or with green striations towards base on inside; lobes 8-10 mm long, erect. Squamae quadrangular, c. 1 mm long-and broad, emarginate, yellowish green.
