Characteristics

Perennials with much branched fleshy base and short erect branches up to 50 mm long, pale brown, with remains of old leaves attached to short phyllopodial Leaves elliptic to lanceolate-spathulate (15-)29-50(-70) x (6-)8-16 mm, cuneate to shortly petiolate, acute to obtuse, dorsiventrally compressed, covered with long glandular hairs c. 1.5-3 mm long, grey-green to blue-green. Inflorescence a thyrse with (l-)2-8 monochasia, each with 1-5 flowers, glandular-pubescent; peduncles (0.15-)0.2-0.3 m long, usually pale brown; pedicels 6-10(-15) mm long. Calyx 3-4.51 mm long, glandular-pubescent; lobes tri-angular, acute. Corolla glandular-pubescent outside; tube cylindrical and scarcely bulging around middle, 8-10 mm long, glabrous inside except for a few hairs, pale brown with darker veins; lobes 5-7 mm long, pale brown with darker veins. Anthers 1-1.5 mm long. Squamae oblong, 1-1.2 x 0.2-0.3 mm scarcely emarginate, slightly fleshy, pale yellow.

Leaves dry at flowering, cuneate-spathulate, dorsiventrally flattened, 25-80 x 8-60 mm, glandular-pubescent. Flowers upright, in a sparse glandular-pubescent inflorescence, with peduncle 0.1-0.3 m long, corolla tube 8-14 mm long and cylindrical to slightly swollen in middle, pale green, lobes 2.5-4 mm long, deep maroon.
