A scrambling shrub or creeper. It can grow 18 m long. The young branches have a rusty brown coating. The leaves can be hairy underneath. The flowers can occur singly or in groups of 2-3. The petals are brown. The fruit are 2.5 cm long by 1.2 cm wide. They have several seeds.
Petals brown, fleshy, subequal, 4–6 mm. long, ovate, obtuse to rounded, glabrescent above, tomentellous towards the base.
Leaves as in U. angolensis but sometimes remaining more densely stellate-pubescent below, especially on the nerves.
Stamens c. 2 mm. long, linear, orange-brown; connective-prolongation orbicular-oblate, rounded, tapering.
Flowers solitary or in 2–3-flowered condensed cymes, extra-axillary, ± sessile.
Sepals forming a cupular rusty-pubescent calyx, as in U. angolensis.
Branches rusty-tomentose at first, eventually subglabrous.
Liane or scrambling shrub up to 18 m. high.
Seeds c. 1 cm. long.
Carpels pubescent.
