Characteristics

Liane or scandent shrub, climbing by knot-branches, with sparsely greyish-pubescent young stems, inflorescence axes and flowers. Leaves: lamina ovate, (15–) 30–45 (–90) mm long, (10–) 15–20 (–45) mm wide, obtuse to cuneate at base, ± serrulate margin, acute to obtuse at apex, penniveined, glabrous, glossy; petiole 1–3 (–5) mm long; stipules narrowly triangular, 1.2–2 mm long. Inflorescences 0.5–2 cm long; bracts sometimes persistent. Pedicels 1–2 mm long. Hypanthium cup-shaped, 1.2–1.8 mm diam. Sepals erect or spreading, 1.6–2 mm long, caducous. Petals absent. Stamens incurved or erect, 1.4–1.6 mm long. Disc lining the hypanthium. Style sparsely pubescent, 1.5–2.5 mm long. Fruit body globular, 2–3 mm long; wing 14–20 mm long.
