Characteristics

Liane or scandent shrub, climbing by knot-branches, with densely greyish-pubescent young stems. Leaves: lamina ovate or elliptic, (50–) 70–90 (–110) mm long, (20–) 30–45 (–65) mm wide, obtuse or cuneate at base, entire margin, obtuse to bluntly acuminate at apex, penniveined, glabrous, dull; petiole (2–) 6–12 mm long; stipules triangular, 1.2–1.5 mm long. Inflorescences 6–20 cm long; axes and flowers densely rusty-pubescent. Pedicels 1–3.5 mm long. Hypanthium saucer-shaped, 1.5–2.5 mm diam. Sepals spreading to recurved, 1.5–1.8 mm long, caducous. Petals spreading or recurved, 0.7–1.2 mm long, rarely absent. Stamens spreading or recurved, 1.5–1.8 mm long. Disc filling the hypanthium. Style 1–2 mm long, with a densely pubescent base. Fruit body ovoid, 2.5–4 mm long; wing 18–30 mm long.
