Leaves narrowly oblanceolate, 2–6.5 cm long, 0.2–0.6 cm wide, base attenuate, margins minutely apiculate-denticulate, apex obtuse, coarsely scattered-pubescent.. Capitula in lax corymbiform cymes; involucre 6–9 mm long; phyllaries 3-seriate, lanceolate, 3–6 mm long, attenuate, almost glabrous.. Corolla mauve or violet, 5–6.5 mm long, glandular, lobes ± 2 mm long, shortly stiffly hairy at the apex.. Achenes 1.2–1.5 mm long; outer pappus of conspicuous scales 0.6–0.8 mm long, inner 3.5–4 mm long, purplish.
