Characteristics

Involucres ± campanulate, c. 5 mm. long; phyllaries 4-seriate, outer very shortly ovate-lanceolate, the innermost up to c. 5 mm. long and oblong to narrowly oblong, apex obtuse mucronate, densely pubescent Corolla mauve, c. 9 mm. long, narrowly funnel-shaped, lobes up to 4 mm. long, linear acute, minutely glandular.

Leaves shortly petiolate; lamina usually up to 4 x 3 cm., ovate to broadly ovate, apex obtuse or rounded mucronate, base truncate and abruptly cuneate to shallowly cordate, margins crenate, upper surface hispid, lower surface densely hispid, glandular, with nerves prominent.
Achenes c. 3 mm. long, narrowly oblong-cylindric, faintly 8–10-ribbed, shortly strigose, glandular; outer pappus of short narrow scales; inner of whitish barbellate setae 5–6 mm. long.
Capitula stalked, few to many in paniculate clusters, terminal on branches; stalks 6–20 mm. long.
