Capitula in small lax terminal corymbiform cymes; stalks of individual capitula ascending-pubescent, bracteolate in upper part; involucre hemispherical, 5–7 mm long; phyllaries 3–4-seriate, lanceolate, 2–6 mm long, acute to obtuse, thinly ascending-sericeous, purplish on midrib towards the apex and on margins.. Corolla purple or mauve, 4.7–6 mm long, lobes 1.7–2.3 mm long, with stiff apical or subapical hairs..
