Virotia leptophylla (Guillaumin) L.A.S.Johnson & B.G.Briggs

A tree. It grows 25 m tall. The young twigs have a rough coating. The leaves are alternate and simple. The flowers are pale yellow. They are on stalks 9-30 cm long in simple clusters. They grow from the old wood. The fruit is fleshy and 4-6.5 cm long by 2.5-5.5 cm wide.

A tropical plant. It grows in humid forests.

The nuts need extensive washing and cooking before eating.
