Characteristics

Leafless dioecious much-branched relatively small greyish shrub 30–50 cm. high; internodes of distal branches 15–20 mm. long, 2 mm. wide, rounded, tapering to ± 1 mm. wide.. Bracteal cups subsessile.. Staminate flowers in triads or dyads.. Pistillate flowers borne singly.. Style minute but distinct, ± 0.5 mm. long; stigma not expanded.. Berries (immature) on 1–2 mm. long pedicels, ellipsoid, 5 mm. high, colour at maturity unknown (deep green when fresh, but drying to purple at this stage), lightly to moderately tuberculate; tepalar ring-scar 3–4 mm. in diameter..
