Leafless dioecious relatively large coarse shrubs more than 2 m. long, usually pendulous, yellow-green; internodes of distal branches 15–25 mm. long, 2–3 mm. wide, rounded.. Bracteal cups of pistillate flowers with a short but distinct peduncle 1 mm. long, sessile in staminate plants.. Staminate flowers sessile, mostly in triads or dyads, sometimes borne singly.. Pistillate flowers borne singly.. Style minute but distinct, slightly enlarged basally; stigma not expanded.. Berries on 1–2 mm. long pedicels, obovoid-ellipsoid, 6 mm. high, smooth, orange; tepalar ring-scar 2 mm. in diameter.. Fig. 4/6 (p. 15).
