Moore; selected in 1955 by Moore for propagation and further testing, and in 1960 for naming and release; tested as V.P.I. 5-2. Cluster: medium; compact; cylindrical to tapering; often shouldered. Berry: medium; skin blue-black, heavy waxy bloom; slipskin medium thick and medium tough, not subject to cracking; flesh sweet; moderately foxy, compares in flavor to Worden or Concord; quality good; ripens a few days after Fredonia or about 2 1/2 weeks before Concord; ripens uniformly.
