Berry: skin uniformly blue with a light surface bloom; flesh spicy, slightly tart; ripens from late June to late July at Leesburg; adapted for fresh juice, pasteurized juice, jellies, preserves; when fully mature, distinctive from European dessert types; limited value for fresh market; excellent as a home-garden cultivar.
