Origin: in Aubenas, Ardeche, France, by Albert Seibel. Introd. in the U.S. about 1927; named by the Great Lakes Grape Nomenclature Committee in 1972. Seibel 880 × Seibel 4202(?); cross made in late 1800s. Cluster: medium to small; cylindrical; compact.
