Characteristics

Caulis erectus, a basi ramosissimus, subpilosus, superne subramosus, glaber, cr. 20 cm longus. Folia alterna, sessilia, caulem laxe investientia, anguste lanceolata, apice subobtusa atque aculeos singulos gerentia, margine subincrassata, dentibus singulis ornata, induplicata, subpilosa, cr. 11-14 mm longa, 1 mm lata. Flores breviter pedicellati, pedicellis 3-4 mm longis; ovarium 3-loculare, hemisphaericum, subcuneatum, pilis brevibus crassis dense ornatum, fere 1-1 1/2 mm longum, item crassum; calycis laciniae late lanceolatae usque anguste triangulares, apice subacutae, aculeos plures vel singulos gerentes, margine subincrassatae, edentatae, dense pilis longis ornatae, involutae, cr. 2 1/2-3 mm longae, 1 mm latae; corolla subcampanulata, profunde laciniata, laciniis late lanceolatis apice subobtusis, fere 3-3 1/2-plo longioribus quam latioribus, cr. 10 mm longa, laciniis cr. 6 mm longis; filamenti basis angulose dilatata, profunda sinuata, fere item longa ac lata; antberae elongatae, robustae, apice subobtusae, 3 1/2-4-plo longiores quam latiores; stilus robustus, apice baud incrassatus, corollae fere 2/3 longitudine adaequans; stigmatis lobi 3, robusti, lati, apice dilatati, subdeplanati, haud involuti. Capsula 3-locuIaris hemisphaerica usque subsphaerica, pilosissima, 1 1/2-3 mm longa, 2 mm crassa, parte superiore conica, apice subacuta, calycis laciniis fere dimidium longitudine adaequante.
