Characteristics

Caulis erectus, a basi ramosus superne pauce ramosus, glaber vel rarius basi subpilosus, cr. 20-30 cm longus. Folia alterna, sessilia, solitaria, anguste lanceolata, sublinearia, apice acuta, aculeos non gerentia, margine subincrassata, dentibus singulis validis ornata, subinvoluta, glabra, cr. 10-15 mm longa, 1-1 1/2 mm lata. Flores breviter pedicellati; pedicellis 2-3 mm longi; ovarium 3-loculare, subrotundum usque hemisphaericum, glabrum, fere 1 mm longum item crassum; calycis laciniae anguste lanceolatae apice acutatae, aculeos non gerentes, non pilosae, margine subincrassatae, dentibus singulis ornatae, cr. 2 mm longae, 1/4-1/2 mm latee; corolla subcampanulata, ad dimidium laciniata, laciniis fere duplo longioribus quam latioribus, acutatis, cr. 7 mm longa, filamenti basis dilatata, anguste-rhomboidea, subsinuata, fere duplo longior quam latior; antherae rectae, elongatae; stilus gracilis, apice incrassatus, corollae aequilongus; stigmatis lobi 3, breves, crassi, apice subobtusi, non involuti. Capsula 3-locuIaris, sphaerica usque hemisphaerica, glabra, cr. 2 1/2 mm crassa; parte superiore late conica, subacuta, calycis laciniis fere dimidium longitudine adaequante.
