Characteristics

Caulis erectus, elongatus, robustus, a basi paullo ramosus, pilosissimus, superne subramosus raro ramosus, glaber, cr. 50-70 cm longus. Folia alterna, sessilia, caulis inferiorem partem dense investientia, late lanceolata, basi subdilatata, apice acuta, margine valde incrassata, dentibus singulis exiguis ornata, subpilosa, valde undulata, crenata, cr. 30-40 mm longis, 6-8 mm lata. Flores longe pedicellati, pedicellis 20-30 mm longis; ovarium 3-loculare, longe obovatum, basi cuneatum, glabrum, fere 4 mm longum, 3 mm crassum; calycis laciniae anguste lanceolatae, basi dilatatae, usque ovales, apice acutae, margine subincrassatae, integrae vel basi dentibus singulis validis ornatae, capsulae aequilongae vel raro paullo longiores, non pilosae, apice subinvolutae, cr. 6 mm longae, 0.75-1 mm latae; corolla campanulata, fere ad dimidium vel ad calycis lacinias laciniata, laciniis late obovatis, raro angustioribus, apice subacutis, saepius subacuminatis, cr. 1 1/2-duplo longioribus quam latioribus, cr. 18-25 mm longa raro brevior vel longior, laciniis cr. 9-10 mm longis; filamenti basis late dilatata, rhomboideo-ovalis ab utroque latere valde elongata, subsinuata, induplicata, fere duplo latior quam altior; antherae elongatae, crassae, apice ± acutae, 4-5-plo longiores quam latiores; stilus robustus, paullo elongatus, apice incrassatus, corollae fere dimidium, usque 2/3, longitudine adaequans; stigmatis lobi 3, robusti, lati, elongati, apice subrotundi, 3-4-plo longiores quam latiores, basi glandulis tribus evolutis, subinvoluti. Capsula 3-locularis late obovala usque fusiformis, glabra, fere item lata ac alta, cr. 6 mm longa, parte superiore late conica, apice obtusa, calycis laciniis fere 1/3 usque dimidium longitudine adaequante.
