Inflorescences usually many terminal dense spherical heads, ± 1 cm. in diameter, occasionally also with a few lateral flowers; flowers subsessile.. Hypanthium obconical, glabrous or almost so, obscurely 10-nerved.. Calyx-lobes 1.5–3 mm. long, ± hirsute.. Corolla 3.5–4(–5.5) mm. long, white, split almost to the base into lanceolate lobes, glabrous outside, ± hairy inside near the base.. Filament-bases angularly obovate, ciliate; anthers 1.5–2.4 mm. long.. Ovary 3-locular, semi-inferior; style about as long as the corolla, not thickened in upper part, eglandular, glabrous below; lobes 3, ± 0.4 mm. long.. Capsule 3-locular, obscurely 10-nerved; valves ± 0.8 mm. long.. Seeds elliptic in outline with acute ends, trigonous, 0.7–0.8 mm. long; testa almost smooth, brown (often darkly so).
