Rounded annual, up to 150 mm tall, with rough spreading hairs, branching from base. Leaves scattered, lanceolate, more-or-less cordate at base, margins thickened, slightly toothed. Flowers in lax cymes, narrowly funnel-shaped, blue with a dark ring in throat and a dark centre, calyx lobes large, toothed, filament base pear-shaped, ovary hispid, ovary (2)3-locular. Capsule hemispherical, hairy.
