Characteristics

Plants 180-400 mm high. Corm subglobose, 20-30 mm diam.; tunics finely netted, extending upward as a collar. Stem erect, simple. Leaves 3 or 4, lower 2 or 3 basal, ± as long as stem, linear-lanceolate, 3-8 mm wide, midrib and margins thickened and hyaline, uppermost leaf smaller and basal or inserted on lower part of stem, sheathing for half its length; bract-like cauline leaves 1 to 3, inserted on upper part of stem, overlapping, 60-80 mm long. Spike 3-to 7-flowered; bracts green, dry and brownish apically, 35-55 mm long, clasping and concealing stem, reaching to middle of next bract, completely enclosing inner bract, inner ± half as long, pale green, entire or forked for 1-2 mm. Flowers zygomorphic, pale pink; perianth tube with lower part 30-35(-50) mm long, enclosed, upper part poorly differentiated, horizontal, narrowly funnel-shaped, ± 6 mm long, ± 6 mm diam. at mouth; tepals suberect and flaring distally, lanceolate, 20-22 x 7-8 mm. Filaments unilateral and arcuate, ± 10 mm long; anthers 5.5-6.5 mm long, pale bluish. Style arching over stamens, dividing opposite anthers, branches 5-6 mm long. Capsules and seeds unknown.
