Characteristics

Plants 1500-2000 mm high. Corm subglobose, 35-50 mm diam.; tunics coarsely netted. Stem with 3 or more short branches. Leaves 5 or 6, lower 4 or 5 basal, upper partly sheathing stem, ± half as spike, lanceolate, 15-25 mm wide, midrib and margins moderately thickened and hyaline; bract-like cauline leaves sheathing. Spike 20-to 30-flowered; bracts herbaceous, dry and brownish apically, acuminate, 15-20 mm long, inner ± 2/3 as long, forked apically up to 2 mm. Flowers zygomorphic, pale pink with darker tube, evidently scented; perianth tube with lower part ± 15 mm long, upper part ascending or horizontal, subcylindric, ± 25 mm long, ± 5 mm diam. at mouth; tepals oblanceolate, 20-22 x 6-8 mm, all widely spreading. Filaments unilateral and arcuate, ± 30 mm long, well exserted from tube; anthers 10-12 mm long, yellow. Style dividing near apex of anthers, branches 5-6 mm long. Capsules and seeds unknown.
